Before coat or film

Paint correction in Winter Springs, FL

Machine polishing that takes out swirls, light scratches and haze before anything is sealed in.

Chapter 01

What swirls and haze are doing to your paint

Swirl marks, light scratches, water spots and haze are fine defects in the clear coat. They scatter light, so the paint looks worn and dull even right after a wash. Florida sun, dust and improper washing put them there, and they do not go away on their own.

The bigger trap comes later. Put a ceramic coating or film over paint with defects in it and you seal those defects in for as long as the protection lasts. Correction comes first for that reason.

How we correct paint in our Winter Springs bay

We start with an inspection under proper lighting, judging the type of defect, how deep it runs and the condition of the clear coat. Then the car is washed and decontaminated so bonded contaminants do not interfere with polishing.

Correction is machine polishing in stages. Depending on paint hardness and how bad the defects are, that can be a single stage or several. Each pass is done with control, aiming for real improvement without taking off more clear coat than the job needs. At the end the paint is refined and inspected for even gloss and clarity across every panel.

Chapter 03

Protect it once it is right

A corrected surface is smooth, so protection bonds to it better and dirt has less to hold onto. That is the moment to add Gyeon ceramic coating or STEK paint protection film, and at the end of a correction we may recommend one or the other, depending on the car.

Afterward, wash with proper technique. Improper washing is one of the things that puts swirls into paint, and a careless wash can start the cycle again. Correction is quoted per vehicle because the work depends on the paint and the defects, so call (407) 337-5292 and we will look at the car.

Correct, then coat, then film

The order that keeps a finish clean.

This is the order we work a car that is getting the full treatment. Not every vehicle needs all three steps, and we quote per vehicle, but the sequence never flips: protection goes on after correction, never before.

  1. Correct

Inspect, wash, decontaminate, then machine polish in stages until the clear coat is smooth and even. This page, and the step everything else sits on.

  2. Coat

Seal the corrected paint with Gyeon ceramic coating so it beads water and washes easily.

  3. Film

Put STEK paint protection film over the panels that take the hits, such as the front end, so road debris meets film instead of fresh paint.

Correction questions

Before the polisher comes out.

What kinds of paint defects can correction remove?

Correction can reduce or remove swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, oxidation and surface haze. How much comes out depends on the condition of the paint and the thickness of the clear coat.

Is paint correction safe for my paint?

Yes, when it is done properly. It is a controlled process that refines the clear coat, and our aim is a better finish without removing more material than we need to.

Should correction happen before ceramic coating or film?

Yes, in most cases. Correcting first gives coating or film a clean, smooth, defect-free surface, so the protection performs at its best.
